Jim Stuart joins EnviroDNA as CEO to spearhead the next phase of growth
EnviroDNA has appointed Jim Stuart as CEO following an extensive recruitment process. Jim brings over 25 years’ experience leading technology companies covering software and hardware product innovation, corporate strategy development, business transformation and operational excellence.
Jim is excited to join EnviroDNA on its mission to empower industries with eDNA technology for improved sustainable impact management of the natural world.
"I am privileged to be a part of the exceptional EnviroDNA team and contribute to enhancing the availability of tools that can assist corporations, governments, and community groups in addressing the environmental and biodiversity crisis that impacts us all."
Prior to EnviroDNA, Jim held executive roles, including Chief Revenue Officer of Emesent, a world leader in autonomous robotics, and Chief Strategy Officer for Lloyd’s Register Digital and has an impressive history scaling businesses during early stages of growth.
Demand for scalable biodiversity data
EnviroDNA is entering a new phase of growth to meet Australian and global demands for access to scalable and actionable biodiversity data. Fuelled by the increasing rate of biodiversity decline and emerging TNFD and nature risk transparency considerations.
As an Australian-based global leader of this technology since 2016, EnviroDNA is positioned to advance market-leading solutions that allow organisations to easily measure biodiversity.
At the forefront of the agenda is the development of sophisticated data tools and expanding monitoring solutions to allow a broad range of industries to easily understand biodiversity change through time, determine trends and easily communicate results to stakeholders.
These eDNA solutions measure biodiversity to help clients access measurable insights on species and ecosystems across land, water and sea.
Leveraging technology for good
EnviroDNA is purpose-driven business working towards a vision where human impacts are sustainably managed. Jim shares in this passion and is motivated to accelerate its positive environmental and social impact.
“eDNA is tech for good. It’s a tool for enabling environmental and social initiatives and can create meaningful change at scale. It has an impressive ability to connect different communities and provide unique opportunities for interaction with natural ecosystems.”
This is demonstrated through several EnviroDNA projects, such as the Traditional Owner eDNA Training and Certification Program, The Great Australian Wildlife Search, and eDNA-based educational programs implemented in schools.
EnviroDNA Director, Helen Barclay, adds “We are thrilled to have Jim join our team to lead the next exciting chapter of EnviroDNA. His experience with technological product innovations and scaling businesses alongside his motivations to propel our social and environmental goals position him as EnviroDNA’s ideal CEO. Jim’s strong commitment to client focus, partnerships, and commercial success will be key to growing our impact.”
